Captain Dak
CAPTAIN DAK: first contact
This novella is a short read in the science fiction and social commentary genres. It explores the fears and hopes of members of two alien cultures who are forced to interact. It’s a rather biting and unique look at ‘civilized’ behavior.
Captain Dak can’t leave. His disabled ship has crashed back onto the planet he was exploring. To survive, Captain Dak is forced to interact with the intelligent aliens he was studying. This novella explores the fears and hopes of members of two vastly different cultures. Through unexpected plot twists of friendship, trust, and betrayal, both Dak and the alien learn much about themselves, their worlds… and what survival really means.

The Robbins: old farts gone bad. Free eBook
The Robbins are determined to get their money back—and get even.
When an arrogant and selfish 26-year old, Ken Paulson, inherited a large national jewelry store chain, he probably shouldn’t have fired 72-year old Wayne Robbins, a brilliant engineer who helped Ken’s father build the company. And he certainly should not have stolen Robbins’ retirement funds, patents, and royalties.
But, he did.
The need to survive forces Wayne to develop a brilliant plan. Traveling the country in their motor coach, these sweet grandparents devise and execute perfect crimes. But they must overcome unexpected challenges, conspiracies, intrigue, and crossed loyalties. Finally, they must face and out-smart not only Ken Paulson but also the people they fear the most.
This may not end the way you think it will.

Three Legs of the Caliphate
Exciting news. Three Legs of the Caliphate, book 2 of the Robert Curry series, is out.
Robert Curry’s new war is raging in the world right now, and this story should chill every one of us to the bone. Is it fact or fiction?
Cyber control of the world’s economy
Political control of the world’s minds
Radical Islamic control of the world’s destiny
In a continuation of Apocalypse Disrupted, Three Legs of the Caliphate pulls you into Curry’s fight against radical Islamic terrorists, cyber/financial manipulators, and twisted politicians who develop an integrated strategy to wage Jihad against ‘non-believers’ and build a Caliphate for themselves. Curry must use his unique gifts to identify the conspirators and defuse their scheme before the Western world is overrun, before his country and his family are destroyed again.
“From my military experience—I was embedded with Afghans for a year—Freriks is spot on with Middle Eastern customs and culture, but more importantly, the viewpoint of radical Islam. I was amazed at the depth and breadth of military intelligence, IT, and Middle Eastern culture. Not to mention how scary the book parallels today’s world. Great story. Couldn’t put it down. Kudos.”

Book Signing Tour
HEADING OUT
Kathy and I are heading out for a three-week BOOK SIGNING tour of RV parks in SEVEN states.
Now, for those of you who have read The Robbins: old farts gone bad, I want to assure you that Kathy and I are NOT crooks. We are not using the RV to cover perfect heists. We just want to meet fans and sign a few books.
Honest… we are not thieves. We’re just trying to promote The Robbins.
I’ll be sending pictures from the road of some of the great people we meet.
My laptop will not be idle. Julia—now that it is a murder/crime mystery—awaits my renewed attention. For those fans who have been asking, I’m working on it. Just chill! I have to launch the next novel in the Robert Curry series, Three Legs of the Caliphate first. That’s one scary book.
I’ll also be making a few of my books free downloads over the next few weeks, so keep an eye out.

Three Legs of the Caliphate
Met with the mac daddy Tampa Bay talk show host Jack Harris this morning and gave him an ARC of my newest novel as I promised Glenn Beck. Waiting for feedback from both of them. Still targeting September 1 as a release date.
Political corruption. Cyber and financial manipulation. Islamic terror. All orchestrated by evil empire builders to establish a Caliphate. Intrigue, power, deception, heroes, villains… what else would you want?
Much research with Muslims of different colors was done, and I hope I strike a good balance between “good” and “bad” Muslims. Radical Islamic terrorists are thugs who use their bastardization of Islam to push their own agenda—in the same manner as all conquerors and dictators throughout history.
Writing this scared the bejezus out of me, and it still does. If you look at current events with the lens I place in front of your eyes, I’m sure you’ll also find a few of the intertwining storylines to be frightening.

As I grow and gather a fan base, I have been told I needed to set up a Facebook Fan Page, @authortimfreriks. So I did. This is the new link. Definitely, follow me.
Three Legs is my latest novel, and it is the most frightening. Why? Because this story is happening. If anybody is interested in reading an ARC, please email me at tfreriks@timothyfreriks.com .
The proposed release date is August 15th. Let me know what format (ePub, MOBI, or PDF) you want. I also have a few hard copies if that’s the only way you can read it.
When you email me, I’d love permission to put you on my mailing list, too. Every once in a while, I’ll send news and notices about free copies of new stuff I do. In fact, if you haven’t read the rather intense short stories in my Collection 1, here’s the link for that. Enjoy! Sorry, but they might be a little disturbing.
Banana – a short story
BANANA
A short story by Timothy Freriks © 2016
After all of this time, now I’m trash. No, sorry… I’m garbage. The newspaper I find myself uncomfortably snuggled up to—almost wrapped up in—is trash. He seems proud of that like it’s an important distinction and somehow better than being garbage. I honestly don’t know the difference, but I respect his right to think that as I try to be proud of being garbage.
The cherry tomato with whom I share this tight, dark space, seemed to agree with me, but of course, he had to identify with garbage. Inanimate objects are trash, he had said. I’m not. He was awfully wrinkled and squishy at the time—old and maybe senile—so I don’t know if I trust his perception. A little later, when I tried to get some clarification, I got no response. I’ll have to assume he has died.
That fate awaits me as well as I feel myself turning darker, inside and out. My meat is soft to the point of being called ‘mushy’, and my once beautiful yellow skin is dark brown and, in spots, black already. I have to accept that final decay is inevitable, but… Continue reading
